At Central Bank Employees’ Credit Union, we believe that empowering the next generation through education is the most profound investment a cooperative society can make. We are proud to announce that applications are officially open for our Annual Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) Bursary Awards and Tertiary Education Grants for the upcoming academic year.

Each year, CBECU awards substantial financial bursaries and scholarships to the children and dependents of active credit union members. Our scholarship fund is designed to ease the financial transition into secondary and tertiary schooling, covering essential expenses including textbooks, laboratory supplies, tuition, digital technology, and uniform requirements.

Award Categories for 2026/2027:

1. SEA Achievement Bursaries: One-off cash awards and commemorative plaques for students entering secondary school.
2. Continuing Secondary Excellence Awards: Annual academic support for CSEC & CAPE examination preparation.
3. Tertiary Education Grants: Non-repayable grant funding for students enrolled in recognized undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs (UWI, UTT, USC, and accredited regional/international institutions).

Eligibility Criteria & Membership Requirements

To qualify for bursary awards and tertiary grant consideration, applicants must fulfill the following statutory criteria:

How to Submit Your Application Step-by-Step

Follow these essential steps to ensure your dependent’s application is processed smoothly before the statutory deadline:

  1. Download the Education Bursary Package: Access the official bursary application form from the Forms & Documents section.
  2. Compile Supporting Documentation:
    • Certified copy of the student’s Birth Certificate.
    • Official SEA placement results or university transcript verifying full-time enrollment.
    • Letter of recommendation from school principal, head of department, or academic supervisor.
    • Brief personal essay written by the student outlining their educational aspirations and community leadership.
  3. Submit to the Education Committee: Deliver completed packages to the 11th Floor Credit Union Office, Central Bank Building, or submit via secure email to education@cbecu.com with the subject line “Bursary Application 2026 – [Student Name]”.
